I could use a little help. I recently bought my first travel trailer and I’ve already screwed up. I got stinky water from the fresh water tank into the hot water heater. I’ve drained all the water and I’ve drained the hot water heater. I’m now hooked up to a fresh water hose, and the hot water still stinks (the cold is fine so I know the problem must be in the hot water heater). I know there are some cleaning/deodorizing products out there but I have no idea what is what, or what to spend my money on. Does anyone have any ideas on products or strategies to get the stink out of my hot water?

    Thanks for any help!

put about 1/2 cup bleach, hilex is good into your water tank then fill the system. let it sit for about 48 hours drain and flush with clean water.

    JBB,

Thanks for the suggestion. I had thought about that but didn’t know if bleach was a safe chemical to use in the water system. I’ll give it a try.

    Thanks,

A little bit of bleach goes a long ways. Did you know its in the milk you buy.
