Last year I bought a Eagle Fish Strike 2000 when they were on sale at Scheels. At the same time I bought the Hot Spots Premium North chip. (2006) I have never been able to get the depth contour lines to show on the screen. Am I doing something wrong? Does this chip even have that feature? The lakes all show up just fine……..no contour lines!

    Thanks for the help.

I’ve got the same set up and the contour lines only show up on a select few lakes. I fished woman and winnie and had lines but when I went to some other smaller lakes all I had were random depths but no lines or contours. I had a really hard time getting mine to register the map and had to reset it a couple of times before I could get anything. You might try the reset and see what happens.

In the “map” mode….hit “Map Data”…..then arrow down to “navionics map choice”……………..select the right region you want………..hit enter…………exit out and try again. Get this question all the time at Gander. I don’t know that unit…but if it is compatible with the navionics premium chip, my guess is this is the problem. You have to “select the file on the chip” before it will read contour depth lines. Let us know if this works. Steve

Edit I guess I’m unclear if this is indeed the Navionics chip or a hot spot preimum map. If it is navionics Steves tips should do ya.

I have the hot spot preimum on my lowrance, and honestly there isn’t a ton of lakes on it, I think the metro has prior, minnetonka and waconia, in the s/sw metro and that’s it, not sure about much of the other metro area. It’s really limited though.

Nothing at all like Lakemaster or Navionics, for amount of lakes, I like that it has spots marked on some maps and it’ll give you some info, about what to target at that spot when and with what, but I never put any of the suggestions to the test yet.

I’ll give it a try again, I’ve done the things Steve suggested (I think) I bought it for use on Rainy and last week I was on Vermilion and neither lake seemed to work.
I’m going back next week, I’ll try it again.
