I am just about ready to buy a new sonar/gps unit. What are the differences? I was looking at a 334c Lowrance but it is discontinued. I hear a lot of problems with the internal ant. Has this been fixed? I was also thinking of a Hummingbird. I am nuts for getting an all in one unit? I now have seperate units. I know this bunch of experts have the answers for me.
    Thanks

My personal choice is the duo. One gps, one sonar. that way if one goes south you still have a back-up. Guess it depends if you have room for two units or not. . . jerr

I guess I’m kind of a lowrance guy myself, I run the external GPS sensors they rarely have issues.

Ditto myself. I do not have a LGC 3000 Antenna, but have had numerous others (LGC 2000’s, LGC 12 and previous models before this years models. I have never had an issue with the external PUCK/Antenna. However, I have heard 2nd hand there has been numerous issues with the LGC 3000 Antennas, not sure if they were internal or external antennas though????

I have also heard of a few problems with the LGC 3000 antennas, however there is bound to be a few bad apples in the bunch. Overall the majority of fishermen are using Lowrance products and its bound to have a few problems. I would contact Wade or look at Jolly Ann Marine to help answer any questions you have.

One other thing to mention, if you don’t plan on ever using this GPS/sonar for anything but your boat I recommend getting an external antenna for better reception!

Here’s how I run mine with the external (cause I like posting the pic (16th time )) I put it on a ball on my 4 wheeler for winter, a little more cumbersome, but works perfect. I actually get reception in my garage, with the garage door closed

You got that right! When I power up my 520c I get WAAS sats acquired right away (seconds).

And if you look at Nicks set up (posted everywhere)… , you can still use it ice fishing.
