“THE FISHHOUSE STORE” topic

I am a new member here and was browsing the past disscusions and I came across the fish house store topic about them not standing by there warranty and I want to add my two cents on it. I have bought 9 houses from them in the past 8 years ( I rent houses on red lake) and I have NEVER had any kind of a problem with their houses. As far as a mold problem I have never heard of such a thing. The only way I can see is that “thinice” must have done something wrong to his house. Did you stain or seal it before your mold problem? I would bet my last dollar you didn’t. If it is true that you submerged your house in water (which I do believe you did) then of course your going to get mold. It don’t have anything to do with vents. My personal belief is that you are looking to get something for nothing, and because of your “mistake” your bashing their company. I have dealt with the fish house store for years and they are one of (if not the best) the best ice house manufactures in the business. Look around at the other companies…do they offer a ten year FRAME waranty? No they do not. I don’t blame the fishouse store for shunning you away. Own up to your mistake and stop bashing a company just because of your stupidity.

Welcome to IDA… have a and relax!

I know it sounds a bit harsh but I dont like it when people “bash” a small business owner when they are the reason for the mistake. I usually wouldn’t let something like this get under my skin but they “the fishouse store” are good people.

I wouldn’t let one post bother you so much, actually starting another thread on the topic will do more damage then the first thread which I have not seen.

fisherking, first, welcome to the site. The views expressed by people here is their opinion. I do not agree with everything I read, but I take a grain of salt with it. I do however believe that this site is a good base for knowledge. But to call someone out by name and accuse, is tasteless, in my OPINION. If someone has an opinion on a product or place of business, it is fair game, but to attck personally, I can do without here.

I thought that thread was all but wrapped up with this post from the manufacturer…

We have been building fish houses for over 22yrs and have never had mold issues. Its funny how easily people/or friends of people point fingers at others for their own dumb mistakes, just because they soaked their house and are having troubles selling it.”

Hopefully these two guys can get together and work through the differences. Trying to do so here is unlikely to be successful.

For what it’s worth after reading the thread NOTHING that was said convinced me that the guys at the fishhouse store running anything but a top-notch outfit.

Calvin…post was in a different forum. and like James said, looked to be a done post. It came across, from what I get from reading, is that it was a friend of the person that had the issue with “the fishhouse store” posting not the person who had the problem.

as for post here. I am sure there are lots of people that read posts here and think they would love to reply how bad stuff is. but this also a informational site, and a good one at that. If we have lots of attacks and stuff then will get harder to post, and then the staff then is busy patroling the posts for attacks and stuff we just do not need on here, instead of filling us in on their secrets. . all in all great job with the site James and staff.

I think you all miss understand me a little bit, there fish houses are great, but you shouldnt have to hire a private investegator to get your money from them when you pay them to sell your fish houses. Im not a guy that just goes around “bashing small companies” as someone said i was just exspressing my opionion just like all of you and sending out a warning for people to be carefull when buying a fish house from them. To me customer serivce is the most important thing when buying a product from someone, and when that person trys to screw you over and rob you of course your gonna be mad. now if any one wants more info this tobic or wants to talk about it pm me ill be happy to respond.

Friend, and I say this in an attempt to save you a BUNCH of grief, you need to be careful about the generalities you use when you describe what has transpired. You could easily end up on the receiving end of a libel / slander lawsuit if anything you’re accusing this guy of doing isn’t 100% accurate.

I hope you guys are able to get everything worked out so both parties can be happy with the outcome. Life’s too short to argue over wet fish shacks.

i hear ya things just got blown way out of proportion ha i havent even been on this site for like two months and then a guy i know told me to check out what someone said about me or something so yeah im done wiht the subject its over and done with , ha its not winter any more even and all im thinking about is catching a few bass and winning some money this summer, so sorry for all the trouble. lets just fish

That was not advice instructing anyone to seek legal action. I was advising cooler heads and a man-to-man discussion to work things out.

The lawyers already have enough money. Nobody ever “wins” a court battle… one side loses less than the other.
