From Heaven to Hell

We fished the backwaters of Mississippi Pool 4 on Saturday – what a beautiful calm day with flat water and very little noise – it was like being in heaven. Then at 4 PM on the way back to Colvill Park I had to run about 3 miles upstream in the main channel – there were huge cruisers one after the other, throwing up giant wakes with noisy engines, the waters were like an enormous storm was happening. We must have gone from heaven to hell.

When I was a kid I had always heard that the best time to go fishing was early in the morning. Now that I’m older I know what they were talking about. When the sun starts to heat up the day it must have an affect on ego and mental capacity. Be careful out there!!

I feel your pain. I live on Lake Minnetonka. Monday through Thursday it is great, but Friday through Sunday it is an entirely different experience.
