Last summer something happened on my boat and all the ground wires melted! Anyone know what would cause this? No fuses were burnt out either!

Inside the boat. The boat is a Lund Pro-V with a tiller.

Check both ends of the ground wire and see if it is in contact with a positive wire if nothing there then follow the ground wire cause sounds like somewhere it may have been kinked up against a positive and shorted it out causing the melt down of the ground. Good place to start..

And make sure you are not running the ground end to a positive feed…

Something is really wrong here. Melted wires are a great way to start a fire. The whole reason for having fuses is to prevent that from happening. So you actually have two problems to figure out. 1) Where is the short circuit that melted the wires and 2) Why the fuses didn’t blow.
