Anybody have any experience mounting these new plastic transom boards to the back of aluminum boats. I hate to drill holes below the water line to help hold the board in place, but I have found out that the caulk sealer might not always hold it on even if 100% silicon rubber caulk is used. I already had one come off while in the water but my problem was using laytex silicon. Pulled out the screws and bowed the board. Any suggestiong for a secure mount other that drilling more holes?

    GOOP IT ON!!

GOOP LINK Click on products, then click on the boat!

I like to recess the back of the mounting board where

it may go over a rivet(s) to provide the flatest mounting

surface possible. A dealer is just going to

slap it right over anything that may be there, screw it on, and

then MAYBE caulk around the top and ends.
