PUT A LITTLE REMINDER IN YOUR VEHICLE!!!!

    NO GAS…On May 15th 2007
Body: Don’t pump gas on May 15th
Body: .in April 1997, there was a “gas out” conducted nationwide in
protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon
    overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in
protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most
    places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet
network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that’s almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companys
pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May
15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for
    at least one day.

If you agree (which I can’t see why you wouldn’t) resend this to all your
contact list. With it saying, ”Don’t pump gas on May 15th”

What the heck, it can’t hurt to try

yeah i never saw the point to doing this b.c you will fill up sometime before or after the date, therefore using the same amount of gas just on a different day

i saw let them keep raising the prices, eventually they will outprice themselves and wont be selling it b.c no one will pay for it

The only way this will work is if you do not drive your vehicle. What we out to do is have every one stop driving for two days. If you got all the truck drivers to hang up there keys for two days and no one went to work or even started there vehicles for two days it would put a big halt on every thing including gas prices. But you need the truck drivers to pull it off. Then all the big co. would be crying. But it will never happen. Because people are to ignorant.

THe problem is…That even if you don’t stop and buy gas on that day, you will still need the gas in your vehicle on a different day. Maybe if everyone didn’t drive at all on that day it would make a difference. But not buying gas on the 15th will just add to the total amount of gas bought on the days surrounding that day. Then the gas companies will know what is going on anyways and probably raise the price .30 on the 16th and profit all that much more.

This is a sham. There was never a .30$ drop in gas prices because of a one day protest. You’d be a fool to believe that. If that was true, why not boycott every sunday, and drive the price down to a buck. Just my .02 worth

It’s a futures market, a commodity. One day would do absolutely nothing. Heck, even if we went a week without driving and buying gas, the stations can only sell it something like 7 cents above what they bought it for at the lowest. That’s the law. I believe we approved building a new refinery which should be done in, oh about 7 years.

This would be a great idea if everyone would do it. This is an idea taken from the 70’s when we had gas lines.

Hydrogen power and we wouldn’t have to worry about it.

Just playing devils advocate here, if we didn’t buy it for one day it would have to mess things up a little bit I’m sure. Tanker trucks deliverys schedules would be off and I’m sure some of the refineries would have more on hand than they had planned. Just trying to think of a possible positive on this before I go and fill the truck and boat up @ 3.10 a gallon for this weekends opener.

Actually, this just messes with the distribution side of things. It does little to curb pricing of barrels of oil. Not driving is the answer, but that upsets the economy as a whole, not just the oil industry… its a losing situation. I NEED it to get to work, therefore I will buy it. I WANT it in my boat, therefore I will buy it.

    Here we go again…

Can we have posts about gas prices get banned from this site too (like religion and politics). I think this is the third one this month.
