I have a butcher block from a neighbors kitchen that I have sanded off the old stains. Is there an oil that you can rub in after sanding and other than soap and water is their something that the proffesionals use to keep them clean and stored. It will sit in the corner of the kitchen and have pop and bags of chips on it more than meat and fish will be cut.

Regularly wipe it down with mineral oil and a coating of beeswax once or twice a year. The beeswax helps repel the water as well as fill in the rough spots leaving the surface smoother.

I’m a baker and we use the thick maple work benches The state inspector wont let us use anything to clean them except a metal scraper and mineral oil .
