Central Air Installation (Condensor Unit)

    I am replacing out central air conditioner condensing unit. This is a direct replacement of the one that went out and will not be replacing the A-Coil or anything like that. I am wondering if anyone on here could give me an idea what I should expect to pay someone to come and instal it. Also, if you are looking for a side job, let me know…I am in the south east metro (cottage grove)…reply here or shoot me a pm…thanks,

    How old is the A-coil? Minimum SEER requirements for the condenser is 13 SEER. If your A-coil is older than 10 years, your going to need a 13 SEER coil as well. This is code and Fed law..

    Here are some prices to expect.

    13 SEER coil and condenser- $2500
    14 SEER $2800
    15 SEER $3000
    16 SEER $3500

    Ahh, your looking for someone to do the hook up..

    Make sure the SEER on the A-coil matches the SEER on the condensor or it wont work..

    If its the original A-coil its probably 10 SEER

    got it all lined up, had it verified that the new unit will work with the A coil and meet required guidleines.

    Hello, it is not a good idea to replace just the outside unit. 1. to small to match the new cond. 2. contaminants.
    3. often dirty & plugged. 4. old dirty oil trapped in evap coil. 5. old line set often too small & dirty.etc
    a reputable contractor would never recomend such a decision unless it is impossable to change. pay someone who knows what they are doing. you will not regret it. Carrier & rheem dealer
