I’m not an extremely experienced lead pourer but any time I’ve had trouble filling a mold cleanly with a pour it was due to the lead temperature being too low or the mold itself being too cold or a combination of the two. Pre-heat the mold itself with a propane torch or increase the lead temp and you should see an improvement.

I thought there where holes in the bodies that the lead would go threw to help it stay on. Maybe warming up the bodies would help. I picked up over 50 sonars on ebay last winter for a little over 20 bucks.
Has anyone else seen the infomercial on the zip lures. Worlds greatest lure.

Uhhhgggggg! Zip lures. World greatest promotion…. world’s WORST hooks and the design requires too much effort to get too little action. I can think of a bunch of blade baits I’d rather have in the boat.

Yea. but they look purty. I had to watch it for awhile. They did show some clips of river fishing but I could not
    tell where they where at.

The ones I’d like to try for the river having heard good things about them from the Erie guys (Jason Glatz mostly) are the Vibees. They are available in smaller sizes yet still have good hooks from what I can see in photos. ` From what I know they’re not available locally but some shops out near the great lakes will mail them. My intentions are to order up a selection prior to fall.

Sorry for the delay.I have tried heating the mold w/ a torch thats what has sort of puzzled me and there is no hole for the lead to go through.
I personally like gay blades made locally w/ only a 2″ lift it vibrates great.Sonars for my dad. Thanks for the help.

Hear is a guess. I wonder if you need to flux the blades at all. Flux is what us plumbers use to get the soilder to stick to copper piping. It is also used to solder dissimular metals together.
Do it molds has a web site that talks about how to use there molds. You might find a answer there.
    Good luck

The harder an item is to pour the softer the lead needs to be. Use only pure soft lead no wheel weights pipes or other junk. Also try coating the inside of the mold with candle soot. Just hold it over the flame until its blackened. These 2 things should help.
