A coworker gave me a beef tongue.

What do I do with it or how do I cook it??

    Thanks.

Melt 1/4 stick of butter in a medium skillet. Add sliced onions, garlic, and red peppers and green peppers. Cook until lightly browned. Add one can of beer. Add 6 fresh brats and bring to a boil. Then carefully throw the cow tongue away, making sure it stays as far from the brats or any other valuble item in you kitchen. Enjoy the brats hot off the grill with the rest of the beer you have!!!

When we were kids, Ma used to make beef stew using beef tongue. It’s a relatively tough cut, so anything you can stew long enough. Just be sure to “peel” it if that hasn’t been done.

Her’s a link to some other recipes, you should find something you like.

Do you have a dog? Stew it up in a crock pot and let him/her have at it.

First make sure you peel it. Then boil it and pickle it with onions and whatever else you would like with it.

Do what we do when we encounter something that resembles food but we’re not positive ………pickle it!

Ya it’s good sandwich meat, but I can’t stand the thought of anything that came out of a cow’s mouth; guess I’ll stick with EGG salad.

It is a norm for christmas….boil it, skin it and slice it up….a little mustard and a slice of cheese on a biscuit makes a tasty sandwhich.

I’m with Buckshot. Boiled with some pickling spice and vinegar added to the water. Skinned and sliced for sandwichs. Well I eat Lutey and Blood sausage too.
