It was just a fish and you did the right thing to stay safe. But a fish from you and a bike from someone else and who knows what. Its also strongarming amd thats illegal. So a description for future reference to police and dnr isnt a bad idea. Very sorry to hear about this and hope it never happens to you again.

    Cade,
Ten years ago I would have hit him with a low single and slapped a choke hold on him before he could say “pass the bass” at his party. Now, I have mellowed out a little bit. Nothing is worth possibly getting hurt or killed over. Go fishing with a friend. Brush it off as the guy was an idiot. I agree with having the DNR and police programed into the phone. I don’t, but it is a good idea. Ted

Cade like others have said you defiantly did the right thing no sense in getting hurt over a fish. I would also still call the police and give them all the info you can, you never know what kind of nut job this guy is for all you know he could be a child abductor or have a criminal background. Too many people look the other way on things like this and these guys are still out there on the streets looking for there next victim. By calling the police you could possibly be preventing this or something worse from happening to someone else.

That’s creepy and wrong. Do yourself, your family, and possibly the next victim a favor and call the police. If this guy is intimidating a teen in a deserted area, what else is he up to? Maybe it’s a bass this time, but next time he could crack some older fisherman in the head and take a wallet.

Glad it all worked out OK Cade.

You guys still think I should call the police? I was down in goose today with my partner for the spring open on May 5th to do some pre-fishing and wouldn’t you know it..same spot, same guy. I wrote down the license plate- it is a small green car, I think a dodge neon but not sure. The only reason why I was intimidated was because it was a deserted area and he sounded like he was tripping on something so who knows what could have happened..It didn’t seem like that big of a deal to call the police but maybe I still should. Does anybody know the LAX police phone number? I do not want to dial 911 to tell them that yesterday a guy stole a fish from me

Don’t call 911….Call the county non-emergency dispatch 785-5942…Tell them your story…Let them make the decision if it’s important or not……
