I came home from college on Friday night for the weekend. Brought my girlfriend home so I didn’t fish as much as I wanted, but I also didn’t have to move pigs so it was alright. Anyway, we hit the Little Sioux River both evenings in my favorite early walleye spot. I started out the same way as I always do there. I grabbed a 1/8 ounce lead colored head with a half crawler and went to work. I was fishing a feeder creek and the current was moving pretty good so I just let the current slowly bounce it along the bottom, all the while just slowly reeling in and giving it a slow lift and drop. This is what worked for me both nights. The second night my girlfriend and brother got in on the action. The same thing worked for them…but my girlfriend used a pastel green jig in a 3/8 size and let it sit right in front of her. She outfished us both!!!
