I’m taking off on the 19th for Dogpaw lake in NW Ontario, fishing Muskies and smallmouths, but I also want to try for some lake trout, anybody have any advice on baits, I know I need to pick up some jigging spoons, what size? any particular make or model work well? Thanks

You may want to try to find 2oz Bucktail Jigs. We use them on our trips. Vertical jig them very aggressively. In fact the owner of our lodge recommends dropping them to the bottom, and then reeling as fast as you can up. They will follow the jig up and just smash it. Add a 4″ white twister tail for dressing.

Thanks for the tip, I saw them at Cabelas last time I was there, I thought about picking some up, I’ll do that this weekend, what color seems to work for you in clear water? We’ll be fishing about 60 feet down, any other tips you can give me for my first shot?
