I’ve been toying with the idea of getting the Navigator tiller but, they are rated at 60hp and I wondered if that motor would be big enough for that big of a boat full of gas and gear w/1 or 2 people.

Hope they can help you out, that is a nice boat.

Mines an 03 tiller with a 50 Merc 2 stroke loaded it will go about 28-29 with 2 guys. Doesn’t seem to plow at all. Good Luck!

I have a 2004 alumacraft magnum 165cs with 90 etec. 2nd hole mount and 13.8 x 17 ballistic 3 blade prop, full load with full 22 gallons gas, gear, livewell empty, 2 guys at 230 and 250lbs each, 5 ac delco group 27 batteries, 9.9 merc kicker and 101 minn kota up front.

I get 38.8mph gps at WOT at 5200 RPMs. 35mph seems a bit slow.

I do remember reading that the alumacraft factory can hammer down the lip on the pad to fix the plowing issues (and the opposite on porposing issues)

What are your rpms at WOT?

I currently run a 15 pitch apollo stainless prop. It runs about 5200-5300 rpms. The fastest I’ve ever seen was 36.8 gps, 5 g gas, me 220lbs, 2 batteries, bowmount ap55, 2 seat and that’s it. It PLOWS normally to a tune of 34-35 wot. Alumacraft is taking her for fixin’ april 20th, thank god!!! The gas mileage, the gas mileage!!! We all suffer if I keep driving this thing like it is now!!!! What kind of rpms do you run with that prop??? I have a ballistic 15 pitch I have yet to run. When they are done I may have to get rid of it, darn it!!! I got it new for $125!!!!!! I do think your hull is a little different than mine, I’m 90″ wide!!! Also 5 batteries!!!! Where do you put them all???!!!
