April 5, 2007 at 11:34 am #557336Ken, I can’t imagin the pain you and your family are going through right now. Trust in God that He will see you through this and that your daughter is in His hands now and is being taken care of for all eternity.
God bless you and your family.
JohnApril 5, 2007 at 1:48 pm #557402You have my deepest sympathy. Reading what you wrote brought out some emotions that are deep inside of me. I suffered a loss of a daughter as well. Much younger. Here is a poem I have always liked since then, its better served for losing someone younger maybe, but still fitting.
A Child Loaned
“I’ll lend you for a little time, a child of mine,” he said. It may be but a moment or a year or two or three. But will you, till I call her back, take care of her for me? She’ll bring her charms to gladden you, and should her stay be brief, you’ll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return, but there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked this wide world over in my search for teachers true, and from the throngs that crowd lifes lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love, not think the labor vain, nor hate me when I come to call, and take her back again.
I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear lord, thy will be done.” For all the joy the child shall bring, the risk of grief we’ll run. We’ll shelter her with tenderness, we’ll love her while we may, and for the happiness we’ve known, forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her, much sooner than we planned, we’ll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.Author unknown by me

Todd_NEPosts: 701April 5, 2007 at 7:29 pm #557583I am so so sorry for your family’s loss. I’ll offer a prayer from St. Francis.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.April 5, 2007 at 7:58 pm #557597Ken,
