It was my desire to get my first report out this weekend. However, my workplace had other ideas. I do know that the bite is hot right now and the big fish have moved into the river. Jigging during the day is yielding 30-100 walleyes per day in the main river channel below the dam and downriver. Big fish are being caught on cranks at night, mostly casting up near the refuge line.
My sources tell me that a fish topping the 18 pound mark was caught in the Fox River.
The gentleman that caught the fish is from Menasha.
The record is pending at this time and will be confirmed tomorrow depending on the DNR. They have taken possesion of the fish to do whatever it is they need to do to confirm the record. When I get more information on this I’ll pass it along.
