I may be making a trip to Lake Superior this weekend (June 27-29) How is the smallie bite? I have someone who lives right on the lake. My hope is to get into some bigtime smallies. Any tips on what is working or areas would be great.
    Thanks

my son in law was up there last weekend… he said you couldnt catch smallies unless you were using suckers.. they were sitting very shallow and many nice fish were being caught…. thats about all I know…

Was on Cheguamagon bay last Wednesday. My partner and I cpr’d around 70 for the day. Best day I have ever had on the bay. Ave size was 19 inches. We used 1/8 jig and small power baits. Remember the bay is very easily turned to mud by rain and wind due to its shallow nature. Make sure to call ahead for water conditions. If you are going any how and the bay is stirred up. Lake owen in Drummond has good smally action. Try low light periods as it is gin clear and deep.

    Haywood,
Lake-link.com usually has some updated info on the bay. Good luck !
