I changed it one more time since that post so my last change must have nailed it. Good to hear. Thanks!

That link should be fairly difficult for spam bots to follow still.

There is a “mark it sold” button. When an item sells the original poster marks their item sold and the ad gets a big, bright red SOLD announcement tagged across the top of it and in the ad list.

Couldn’t be easier… and nearly impossible to miss.

IE does that on my end as well on those pages. Both here on this site and all other sites where I’m submitting information.

Items marked sold or ended (for wanted ads) are also removed from the search index for the classifieds. This will help keep the focus on active ads. A dedicated search interface should be ready in a couple of days.

    Looks great guys!

Will we be able to edit the Price? right now I’m able to edit my post but not the original price listing.

    Thanks Pier.

You should be able to edit the price… Is this an old classified or a new one since the change over? (actually it shouldn’t matter but will have to check)

I’ll get that fixed after this post. I know what the problem is.

Is the “Mark it Sold” button only on adds added after the change over? I don’t see it on my Tempress Boat Seat Add.

Your ad is stored as “posted” so there is no option for that to be marked as sold or ended. I just fixed a bug (thanks Pier!) so you can specify prices and mark old ads for sale.

Please describe the problem, Scott. The photo upload system seems to be working very well for most. If you’ve found a buggie, we’d love to hear about it.

Maybe it will grow on me but day 2 and I like it less than yesterday. Not seeing feedback/questions from people seems like so much is missing. Answering product questions publicly lends so much more credibility than an individual private msg.

ps-dont mind me. Its just grouchy Thursday…..

Scott that was another bug related to editing old ads with the new system. Try it again and see if it works. (I just fixed it)

Mike, sorry buddy but we’re not going back to the old system. Trust me… it was a FRIGGEN DISASTER.

The man hours spent administrating it were crushing. The comments and harrassment directed at the moderators was rediculous and I was faced with the reality that if some thing wasn’t changed and changed soon my moderators were going to “sour” on their responsibilities.

I’ve had an consistent stream of complaints about the public messenging due to hijacked threads and negative comments directed at the poster.

As a result I was considering two options…

    1) – make the changes we’re making now.

    2) – close the classifieds and leave a link to ebay where the classifeds used to sit.

    Repeat after me…

Change isn’t scary. Change provides opportunity for growth.

Change isn’t scary. Change provides opportunity for growth.

Change isn’t scary. Change provides opportunity for growth.

Give it two weeks after all the changes have been made and revisit this subject. I think once the search system is in place along with the syndicated ad display showing the most recent ads you might see the benefits.

And once you’ve adjusted to those changes… we’ve got a MASSIVE site improvement project coming right around the corner.

Onwards and upwards my good man.

Pier can you post a link to the ad? I’ll try editing it and see if I can find out where it is hanging up. Thanks!

Whatever, change still freaks me out, after a long day at the craziest juvenile institution in the world, even a change in TV cahnnel will have me rocking back and forth in a corner drooling on myself.
