Do any of you out in IDA land know if a person can buy a “kit” to turn your boat trailer into a “swing tongue”

I haven’t tried it yet, but my boat will be a tight squeeze to get into my garage.

It wouldn’t be hard at all to change it over from scratch, but a kit would save me a bit of R & D time

Any help any one can offer me would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    Brad,
I know the kits are available. It may depend on the specific trailer that you have. Check with Cabelas in EGF or your local marine dealer.

    Good Luck

    Forget the swing tongue!

Shuur Handy Construction will built you a larger garage!

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself…someone here will have done to already I’m sure.

I am going to build a larger garage eventually, but Schuur Handy may not want to drive 250 miles to build it

On the other hand, my dad offered me use of his chainsaw to install a doggy door that I could simply put the tongue through!!!! But I don’t want to put the boat in backwards so that won’t work

I did find a few online, but have any of you bought one or know someone who has?????????

And no I didn’t buy a boat that won’t fit in the garage, I did worse and bought a house with too small of a garage to fit the boat

What are you guy’s thoughts on a removeable tongue??? I noticed kits for these as well???????

Ah yes, I was just at Cabela’s about 2hrs ago, and never thought about looking, But I did score a pair of GuideWear Gore-Tex Bibs in the bargain cave for $70!! and a bunch of plastics out of a bargain barrel, I just might have to go back and check it out. I may get lucky and not need it either, my dad is going to measure my boat for me later today, I know it will be close, boat is 17.5ft plus motor plus tongue, and some genius thought a 22 foot garage was plenty big

I just bought one at our local Fleet Farm for $70 , was originaly priced at $114.00 and a breeze to install, only took 1/2 hour.

I went thru the same thing. You can also get a kit at Gander Mountain. Wasn’t a lot of money either.
