What mapping card would you use in the garmin 178. I would like one including Wi lakes. The units are last years models. Are 178’s capable of the newest cards availible or do I have to get something in their vintage. Will older than the unit, cards work? If anyone is running 178’s please let me know what you do.

gs… garmin has lots of different options. Dont panic, it will take the new chips. The 178 was discontinued(grey scale model), but the same is still in production of the color 178.
Any of the chips for Garmin, or garmin compatable will work… lakemaster, navionics, hot spots, mapsend programs, etc.
Read your owners manual, and talk to Wade, he will be sure you get the right chips.
