I have owned both….the internal works VERY well no issues and is handy if you want to move it to other locations.Either one will do a good job for ya,good luck!

I have had VERY good luck with the Garmin internal ant. I highly recommend going that route!
March 12, 2007 at 1:05 pm #547730The Garmin internal antenna is awesome. I have sold and installed many of these units. Never had an issue with the internal antenna. It is your best option in my opinion!

I picked one up and I am pleased with the performance.
The external antenna also lets you flush-mount the graph if you choose.
