A buddy mentioned that the Vikings may be interested in the site to build a stadium. Anyone else heard this? Id be more interested if the Twins would consider it!!

I have not heard anything of the sort but I can’t see it happening due to the value of the land and the fact that the plant would have to be a complete demo. Ford made lots of investments to that plant over the last decade. Im sure they already have plans for it we know nothing about. Also the site isn’t very “traffic friendly”

I hope not. I live near there and traffic is bad enough the way it is. There is no easy/real close freeway access near the site, and that would make for some serious traffic jams from all directions.

Sites like this are usualy sold as a write off. Think about it. How many years has Ford been spraying paint, welding, Ect… The clean up of the property will cast almost what it’s worth. Ford will most likely sell for a loss and make the new owner clean it up.

They do not have enough surrounding activities like downtown. Imagine the amount of bars and resturaunts they would have to build! Parking? Traffic? Plumbing?
I agree, downtown is the place for that…Do you think they are just trying to stir up the pot to get things going?
