Really got into fishing plastics on the river in the last year. Before that I was almost strictly live bait. Will plastics work as well on lakes? I can’t find one but maybe there is a link on here someplace on fishing plastics on lakes. Thanks

Ooooooh baby. I love fishing plastics for bass in lakes. Worms, lizards, curly tails, creatures, texas rigs, you name it. If you’ve never fished plastics on a lake grab a handful of 7″ worms (I prefer powerbait) with a 3-0 worm hook and a bullet sinker and hit the shorelines. Good luck!

    “Lake”? What’s that?

A lake is just a river with no initiative.

I was talking to a guy last fall who is in the Prior Lake Bass Club. He referenced a bass tourney a year ago, where he and his partner boated 30 eyes (!!) using bass techniques. Yes, part of the arsenal were creature baits and various worms.

Do plastics work on lakes? A”BASS”OLUTELY! Walleyes, pike, crappies, gills, perch, muskie…………………I’ve caught plenty of gamefish species on lakes using various plastics and techniques! In fact, I only bring live bait as last resort!

One of my favorite walleye tatics on a lake is to use plastic on spinner rigs. This works well if there are bait robbers like perch and gills around.
