Has anyone here had an outdoor product or a product improvement put into production or patented? I have an idea for a great product and I need to get moving on it fast. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. PM me or post it here if you can help. Thanks

Contact Merchant & Gould out of the Twin cities. They are a competent patent law firm we have used for construction industry.
March 1, 2007 at 3:32 am #543149I have a fishing related idea that I went to Invention Submition Corporation with and it boiled down to the amount of money needed to make a prototype, patent, market, etc. I decided to table the idea for now.If you can get some financial backing and have very strong conviction, go for it.Talk to Jeanne Strandburg (952) 831-8400 and give her the details.KD

March 1, 2007 at 3:29 pm #543284Contact YoNets OFart here on the site, i did and he sent me more than enough information to get started. He suggested to use Litmanlaw from the state of Virginia. I messaged this search and patent firm and they sent me this government site for a basic patent search that you can do yourself to see if theres anything like yours. They will make a detailed search for you for $475, not a bad price i think. Heres the government site, go to it and check it out, its free and pretty detailed. http://www.uspto.gov Everybody here on the site thats got any ideas should save this government site for thier personel and future use, its pretty interisting whats there at that site and very detailed. Good luck!

M & G is a great firm (I used to work there) but Hamre, Schumann, Mueller & Larson might be cheaper. Check out our website http://www.hsml.com.

Sorry but I have been contacted by fellow inventors that got ripped of by these people. If there was a patent existing on your idea, they don’t tell you until they have sucked every dime they can get.The first patent I did years ago, I used a local “patent attorney” for a patent search…$650 later, I got the info. Then found out that he sent it to Litman Law who charged him $315 to do the search. Lesson #1…go to the sorce.
The next patent, I flew to litman’s office and met with the lawyer I was working with and got a tour. Everyone I talked with was friendly and willing to educate me.
I get notices from them every times there is something I need to do to keep my patents in force. Service and follow up are important.
Keep a tight lip and watch out for sharp hooks.
March 2, 2007 at 4:32 am #543748P.S. you do not have to have a working prototype to get a patent. A simple hand drawing with discription can get you started.
March 2, 2007 at 7:43 pm #543983Is there a standard fee to get a patent or can the price very considerably?
