Holmen area got dumped on last night It was pretty neat having the lightning and thunder while it was snowing out. Early guesstimates, we have a minimum of 8″ not including the drifts Looks like I will be doing some serious shoveling before round two gets here

2Fishy4UPosts: 973February 24, 2007 at 1:36 pm #541028Got about 6 inches 15 miles south of Milwaukee, a bit less as you hed south. There predicating about 4 to 8 inches both Satuday and Sunday. My dog has a training class in the Madison area and it is not being cancelled. so off we go.
February 24, 2007 at 1:47 pm #541029I hear ya Ed. Alot of ice here also Waiting for round 2 to arrive this morning. They are saying possible 12″ or more of snow to come from now thru Sunday night Plus strong winds gusting to 40mph or higher. Good weekend to stay home
February 24, 2007 at 1:52 pm #541030Mainly sleet here in Hudson. Freezing rain right now. It is going to be ugly with this coating of freezing rain.
February 24, 2007 at 1:53 pm #541031They just predicted 13 to 20 inches of snow for us with wind gusts of 50 mph!!

February 24, 2007 at 2:10 pm #541033All of ours just melted the last 4 days. so kindly keep that stuff up there please.
February 24, 2007 at 2:12 pm #541034I did see that update yet Ed. Nasty weekend Look at the bright side, spring is just around the corner I’m not to far from you Ed, just on the other side of Sumner
February 24, 2007 at 2:27 pm #541036As much as I love ice fishing I’m ready for spring and getting the boat out. This weather may delay the bluegill and crappie bite at the Sweet Marsh boat ramp.

February 24, 2007 at 2:34 pm #541038ederd.. I have some advice for you(and anyone else living in that area)
Go close the heater vents in your car, or put the switch over to *recirc*. I lived in SW minnesota trough the 90’s storms and that wind is capable of filling your car with 6″ of snow in those heavy gusty winds just through the heater vents if parked in an exposed area.
Nothing like having to shovel out a conversion van!
February 24, 2007 at 2:38 pm #541040This is after the first wave. I would say we have 7 inches in Sparta, but with 40mph wind gust we have some drifting going on
Bill, did you get the Lund out
February 24, 2007 at 2:38 pm #541041We got about 9″ just south of La Crosse. Last night I was working on a school project up on the ridge in “amish-land” Near Stoddard, and we could not see the road or anything on the sides of the road coming back home luckily there were tracks from somebody that bravely made the first run down the bluff. We made it, but had to go about 15 mph for the whole way, and even highway 35 was covered with about 5″ of snow, no plows to be found!!
Despite the conditions, I might just be heading out the door to do some fishing in a bit those crappies should be on fire right now
February 24, 2007 at 2:45 pm #541044After actually walking outside and checking the snow as well as shoveling, we had 12″ in the non drifted areas My little guy was up to his knees After we got done shoveling, they had a huge pile to play on Now I get to wait until tomorrow and do it all over again
February 24, 2007 at 2:49 pm #541047Nice Snow, Mike. We got a big old nothing here. We had sleet last night… but even that didn’t last too long.
February 24, 2007 at 3:00 pm #541054Ugh- I have to drive semi from NE Iowa to Wausau , WI on Sunday. I hope this crap is done before then. We have 13 to 20 inches coming tonight (according to the news), and the streets have about a solid inch of ice on them now from the freezing rain. I can’t wait for the three months of summer before we get to start this all over again!
February 24, 2007 at 3:04 pm #541055Just a reminder for those who may lose electricity. Fill some containers with water in case nature calls! Then you can flush when done.

February 24, 2007 at 3:21 pm #541058Layer of sleet this morning here in St Paul. Still see the grass in the yard.
Still calling for 8-10 inches by Monday.

February 24, 2007 at 3:27 pm #54105913″-15″ in Arcadia minimum. What normally takes me about 20-25 min to plow my driveway with 4-wheeler took me 1.5 hours this morning. Can’t wait to see what tonight brings…should make for some good snowmobiling for a week or so. Checked the long-range forcast and looks good for snow as well.
February 24, 2007 at 3:31 pm #541060Yep, I see they are predicting another 2-4″ today, 5-8″ tonight, and more on Sunday. Snowmobilers should be happy with all the snow
February 24, 2007 at 4:17 pm #541067Less than an inch and wind blowing…here on the east side of Millelacs.
February 24, 2007 at 4:31 pm #541069Just got done shoveling 6″-7″ of it here in Eau Claire.Talked to some buddies down in northwest Iowa and its all freezing rain down there. Looks like a good day for some snow football with the kids. Be safe everyone.
February 24, 2007 at 4:35 pm #541070I would have to agree Wats, we got 12 plus inches with the same amount due it sounds like by tomorrow again . We had to take the truck and did some snow blasting
February 24, 2007 at 4:49 pm #541076Yep freezing rain here at the IGL’s for the moment and winds gusting over 40 so much for fishing this weekend.
February 24, 2007 at 4:53 pm #541077Nothing here, just some sleet and a dusting of snow. It’s sleeting as i type. But i got the plow truck sitting in the shop just waiting.
February 24, 2007 at 6:15 pm #541107Well I said 9″ before, but upon some 1st hand experience, there is definitely WAY more than that. I’m saying 12 or 13″ at least already. we don’t have any major drifts just yet but there are going to be. It took me around an hour and a half to clear the driveway with some help from my dad. my drive way is only about 50 ft long, 15-20 ft wide I would say and it usually would take 15-20 minutes with a snowblower. Well there is so much snow that you can barely get it with the snowblower..and it took me about 45 minutes just to clear the bottom where the snow plow plowed us in..it had to have been 3.5 feet high down there
