    Hey guys,
I have been trying to get a hold of James by phone and email to set up a day for him to guide my Dad, brother, and I and can’t get a hold of him. Anyone know if he is out of town or something? I want to get this lined up or at least find out if he is available the day we are trying to go so that I know if I need to find somebody else.
    Thanks,
    Nate

Nater, James is at the fishing Expo in Madison, WI – it is a 3 day show ending Sunday evening.

Madison could very well be out of his cell phone range too. In order to get product together for this Sports Show would probably involve him helping out in PDC Wisconsin at B-Fish-N Tackle also as everything needs to be put into packagings so it involves much more than a one day drive, 3 days at the show and then another day of driving back. Could be a week long adventure very easily.

    Thanks, Bill

ps. Nater3, I see you are from Webster City. Lets see, 20 miles east on Hwy 20 I believe from Fort Dodge. I grew up in Fort Dodge [first 16 1/2 years of my life]. Small world after all. Do you ever fish Brushy Creek? I hear thats one of the best places for fishing down there close to FT. Dodge. I lived there before the days of Brushy Creek as the family moved to Rochester, Mn the end of 1968 when I was in high school. Opps…gave my age away. I’m sure the Iowa Forums would appreciate some reports on your fishing outtings in your area if you would be so kind. If you ever need someone to fish Brushy with give my old fishin buddy Maurice Meier in Ft. Dodge a call as I’m sure he would love to fish it. Don’t know if hes fished there much but I sure bet he would be interested. 515-576-6264 May I ask what internet provider you have and what the monthly charge is? Maurice moved back to Ft. Dodge from Rochester a few years ago and has been looking for a good one. Thanks.

Inside the Expo, phones don’t always work well.

It’s good to know that he isn’t just blowing me off. I haven’t fished Brushy Creek much at all and haven’t really figured it out yet. It is a really tough piece of water to learn. Right now I am focused on learning how to fish pool 4 for walleyes/saugers. We are hoping to a day trip with James to learn the methods and then go out on our own. We are used to lindy rigging and such for walleyes up on Lake Vermilion and lakes here in Iowa. It sounds like it is a whole new ballgame on the river.
We get our internet through AOL for around $20 per month.

I tried to contact James months ago via E Mail to this board and Moving Waters, and he never responded. Figured what the heck.

Guys, you need to remember that James is really busy pulling the strings for IDA and IDO. Just trying to keep the site running as smooth as it does. Now is also the time for sport shows. Also with the Brandon Rolen auctions going on put even more items on his plate.
As for an e-mail over a month ago, I am sure that when he reads that he will go
Just give him some time to get back to you.
I am not making excuses for James, I just know how busy he is.

Guys imagine if you will receiving an IDA PM from everyone on this site, now throw email on to that pile and along with email comes junk email. I myself get 300 to 500 emails a day in my bulk bin (junk mail), which is why I no longer display my email address in my posts. I can only imagine how many junk emails James receives a day.
Now on top of all that let’s add in phone calls and voice mail, if you look at James posts in his signature he adds his email address and phone number. Now lets say you are out of town for the weekend at a sports show and come home to literally thousands of messages with all of the above combined, there is just no way that any one person could answer all of them. Now this is not counting all the posts on the message board, how many of you guys read every single post on this message board in every forum? There is just no way one guy can keep up with all of that. I am sure James will chime in here when he returns from the spots show, then again maybe not

Wow… you guys really missed me.

The guys have it right. I’ve been on the road since Thursday night working the Madison Sports Show. I will be returning Monday night and will return all phone calls and emails ASAP as always.

I haven’t guided under the Moving Waters name for over 4 years and none of that contact info is valid. Sorry for the confusion.

http://www.idaguides.com is the “new” guide website name.

You mean there actually is a James Holst? I always thought he was a corporate creation like Betty Crocker and Mr. Goodwrench. WOW!

Hmmm, I thought he was something like the ghost of christmas past. Every time I see him he just sorta materializes out of the mist. Could also have something to do with the fact that I always seem to be drinking when he appears………………

I thought this post was like a Where’s Waldo? I thought James would give us some clues as to where he is fishing and we need to find him!!
