The possibility for a foot of snow exists for east central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin. You might want to adjust any travel plans accordingly.

I hope we get dumped on, we need it bad for the lakes and rivers. I would much rather it now then it be in the form of rain in the fall..LET IT SNOW

That should make it easy to get a good parking spot at Everts!

River walleyes never bite during snow. Never. Ever!

SWEET! I can use that worthless investment of a snowmobile for a day or two.

hmmm … weather.com says light wintry mix for lacrosse and we are heading up there for the weekend tomorrow afternoon.
maybe we better take the truck just in case.
better yet, i’d like to talk the fishing partner into going to the big sports show in madison. but i doubt if she would go for that.

This storm looks like its going to have a Double barrel event for southern Minnesota and Iowa with freezing rain Friday some time and after a possible break during Saturday, snow with possibly heavy snow on top the of ice. It wouldn’t be the fishing I’d worry about, it’d be towing a boat if it gets icy.
If you do decide to go some where, drive careful.

I also hear that there is another (bigger) storm in the works that is 5-8 days out.

I’ve been tricked before so I will not get my hopes up and will wait til it happens before I let loose with ‘s, ‘s ,and ‘s

I think they are hyping it because we haven’t had any significant snow since New Year’s Eve.

Those weather people seem to get all excited when they actually get to forecast something.

I know how to prevent it. I’ll just go out and drop 500 bucks on a new snowblower. Guarantee it won’t snow.

I’m not changing any of my plans. I do not trust these guys one bit. I bet we end up with 2-4 inches with scattered spots with heavier and lighter amounts.

I hope we get a bunch for the moisture, but I’m not holding my breath.

Statement as of 4:22 AM CST on February 23, 2007

… Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM
    CST Sunday…

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter Storm
Warning… which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM CST
    Sunday… for Cass… Crow Wing… Aitkin… Pine… and Burnett counties.

Snow will increase in coverage and intensity tonight… and last
through Sunday. The snow may become quite heavy tonight. Snowfall
of 8 to 12 inches will be possible by Sunday afternoon. A few
locations… especially across southern Aitkin and Pine counties
could see locally higher amounts. The snowfall may diminish in
intensity for a time Saturday afternoon and evening… then
increase again Saturday night into Sunday.

In addition to the snow… will be increasing winds causing
    considerable blowing and drifting.

This Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of
snow… along with blowing and drifting snow are expected.
These conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Another way to prevent it is to go hook up all my snowplows and get another load of salt/sand. She won’t snow then.

I better board the windows up. Does anyone know if the grocery stores still have canned food and bottled water left in stock?

I thought it was funny last night when Barriero was talking about Paul Douglas describing the storm this weekend. Paul Douglas said it may resemble the storms of the 70’s. Maybe I’m mistaken because I was born in ’80, but I have to agree with Barreiro and say that I’ve seen 6-12 inches of blowing snow in my lifetime.
