thanks for posting that…
got an email from my son in Afghanistan yesterday – a US security forces team on the base came under fire and one soldier was KIA, a rocket landed within 300 yards of their compound and one guy was hit (broken bones, few stitches), they had to shoot a suspected suicide bomber approaching a convoy… that was just few things he shared with me that happened in the last week… these men and women, our sons and daughters, husbands and wives, friends have all volunteered to put themselves between us and danger, to keep us safe and protect our freedoms. As this ‘conflict’ drags on, too many of us safe here at home become insulated from what’s going on over there, become desensitized to the reports of casualties, lose sight of the purpose of the mission. Whether you agree with the political policies and positions or not doesn’t really matter – keep these men and women in your prayers daily, write them letters of support, show them you appreciate the sacrifices they are making for YOU!
