He should have tried to “noodle” that fish, what a wimp! Looks like that could have been down on the Amazon? I like when he escorted that beast out to the water then sunk down with it. Cool video

I watched that video yesterday…and it made me head down to P4 and Everts.

Didn’t catch any that size but that video and a 6 pound channel cat will help me through the rest of the winter!

What kind of fish is that?

It looked like a huge cross between eel pout and dogfish.

Wels eel, they are in europe and get even bigger than that one!

Hey BrianK, I wonder if they were using 80 lb power pro?

That is a good video. Its been out for a little over a year now. I think they are speaking Italian?

I’m not sure that they would appreciate them being referred to as Wells eels. (comparable to us calling our Cats rough fish)

I’ve included a link that doesn’t pertain to the actual video above, (see link at bottom)
Wells Catfish grow really large over 200lb plus.
check out the stats on this guy, (both cats and carp).
I was following him and his activities over the last year when I stumbled on his fishing services/expeditions on another web site.
Makes you want to go to the river Ebro in Spain and give it a shot.

Marc, you hit the nail on the head they do use 80lb. test. Though they call it Marine Braid. with a 8/0 short shank, wide gapped hook. 10-11 foot rods and Penn 330s.
