Stay away from the oreck, Everyone I know that has a Dyson raves about them. Of corse the Kerby is top of the line also.

We keep a lab in the house and the oreck XL does a hell of a job. Light weight too.

Type in Vacuum cleaner ratings on Google, you will be surprised at the list and prices of the best rated.

We have a Dyson, the animal is the model. All I can say is WOW. It is a GREAT machine. The better half said it was not working right so I pull it apart and I found a ballpoint pen A 4 inch wood screw and two golf tees
The one thing that I really like is how easy it is to totally strip down and reassemble
Spendy YES, would I do it again? In a heartbeat!!

Consumer Reports ranks the best as:

    1. Kenmore (Sears) Progressive with Direct Drive #35922
    2. Hoover Windtunnel 2 U8311-900
    3. Eureka boss Smart Vac Ultra 4870

None of the Dyson’s ranked well at all with CR.

As a Kirby dealer/distributor for 6 years….if you have a demonstration and know how to use one, it’s the best by for the money…and lightest to carry too. Literally will suck up a 16 lbs bowling ball. With the guarenteed reconditioning price it will be you last vacuum you’ll ever buy.

However, some people for some reason I can’t understand like the Oreks that clean the top of the carpeting only. If that’s you…then get a Simplicity (sp). Same vac…less cash.

Call the Vacuum Hutch in Hutchinson, ask for Lee or Sharon. Lowest prices around…as long as you don’t mention my name. They ship too.

Gota dyson, love it, hands down the best vaccum I’ve owned, yeah there is a lot of hype, all of it well deserved, our carpet never felt so good and clean.

Watch for a 20% off bed, bath and beyond coupon, we save 20% on ours ($100) That was the cheapist way to get on 6 months ago.

We have had our Rainbow for three years now and it is still going strong. I have two labs and two cats in the house and that thing sucks ALL the hair and dust out of the carpet. YOu cant beat the water filtration system that thing uses. Yes it is pricey, but it is the last vacuum you will EVER have to buy.

I would have to agree on the Dysons also! We have one lab in the house, big old hairy monster that sheds constantly, and the Dyson animal is great!

We also have a Dyson that we use for cleaning the bar. That thing sucks up more popcorn and random things that a vacuum shouldn’t and keeps on going.

Dyson comes with a 5 year service plan, we recently had to send the one we use at the bar in for service. Got it back in 2 weeks all fixed and cleaned and back in action, cost me $0!

Now if you have some extra cash, and really want to impress the wife, I bought mine a Roomba this year. I use it for the hardwood/no carpeted areas where the dog roams. Just set up the invisible walls that comes with the unit, turn it on, and walk away! Little thing works really well.

The absolute best vacuum cleaner, is what they used to call Electrolux. They sold the name but the are now Aerus Electrolux. I have sold them for years. But not any more. My favorate is the central vac. I still install those. You will never need another vacumm cleaner again.

I have a Kenmore canister that is 26 years old. Received it from my parents for a wedding present. Outlasted husband # 1 and is still going strong…hard to buy bags for at this age though….
