I have a friend who is going to be up there this weekend and is only going to have three or four hours to get out on the ice. he has never been up there before and would like a little help.

Look for the groups. Right in front of the Schaffer’s Bait has been pretty good or take a ride out towards the runway lights has been a decent spot for perch in the past. Take a left off the boat rammp, go straight towards the island and hang a right after the island and that will bring you to the runway lights area. I have not had the stones to drive out that far in a truck but there should be plenty of ice out there. I have seen a few guys out but not like in the past.
