Electronic’s Problem

I’m having a problem with interference while running two different fish finders at the same time. On the console of the boat I have a Lowrance X 51 and I use a Garmin 240 while running the kicker. The X 51 has a skimmer type transducer and the Garmin has a puck style. When I run them both at the same time I get screen clutter on the Garmin. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if so how did you correct this problem? Is there a filter that will solve this? I would appreciate any and all help.

River Rat, the best thing you can do is get the transdusers as far apart as possible. What your trying to do now is like having two different radios turned on, one on each side of you on the desk, on two different ball games and Sammy Sosa is at bat in the left ear and that Bonds guy is at bat in the right ear. Your finders (your head) is suffering from information overload. I know of no filter for this problem. If one of the transdusers was at the front of the boat and the other one at the back then it would help.
    Good luck

The problem is both units are running at 200khz. The cones(signal) from each transducer are overlapping and causing screen clutter. The deeper you fish, the worse the clutter. The only way to solve the problem is to spread the transducers as far apart as possible.
Or,if your backtrolling with the kicker and the transducer for the Garmin is on that side of the boat, you will get screen clutter from the prop wash of the kicker.
