I let my sister’s two year old lab out tonight and went to bring her in and she was gone!!! Emma is blind…born that way but still the happiest 85lb lab in the world. I waked the block 3 times looking and calling…couldnt be found. I finally called 911 and checked to see if anyone had picked her up(no luck), suited up…not expecting to find her alive with the weather and someone came to the door, turned out to be two of the city cops wondering if I lost a Yellow Lab. Someone found her after she had been hit… cant explain what that feels like after I figured she was gone. Went to the vet and picked her up…doing fine with a little swelling but so happy that someone found her.

    THANK YOU!!!

My wife called me at work a year ago, she was frantic. She let out little Possum hound (mut) out and she got hit on the road in front of out house. I left work as soon as I could. She said that Libby was bleeding from her eyes and nose and was barely conscious, but was an improvement from listless. I met my Wife at the only 24 hr vet in our area. Libby is still with us, although her nose is crooked, just like mine. I had help with my crooked nose also, but it did not involve a motor vehicle. Anyways, I have felt what you feel and hope that every thing is find. Libby is my fishing buddy, she goes in the boat with me. My GSP died a few years ago from Lime’s Disease, he would not have been a good fishing dog, but anyways. My prayers.

Hats off to your sister taking in a blind lab from birth! Most dogs are not so lucky. I’m glad to hear Emma is safe. Stories like this keep a person a little warmer…Thank you
