I do think the Colts will win. I really HOPE the Colts will win too, by any point margin, cuz then I’ll be $68 richer!!!
VikeFanPosts: 525February 2, 2007 at 12:12 am #531505I guess I’d have to give a slight edge to the Bears. Their QB is terrible, but there is nothing wrong with Chicago’s run game, and Indy’s run defense is terrible. So long as their defense holds Manning, Harrison, and co. in check, the Bears should have no trouble running the ball and controlling the clock.
The big variable in that scenario is whether Chicago’s defense can control their side of the game. If everyone were healthy the Bears would probably win this game easily, but their defense is not as tough as it was in October. The key to the game, I think, is whether the Bears can stop the Colts from marching up and down the field and in to the end zone. If the Bears can keep Manning in check, they should win this game. If the Colts can move the ball through the air, it becomes a shoot-out, and Indy wins the Super Bowl, because there is no way Rex Grossman can play with Peyton Manning in a scoring fest.
Basically, I think the Bears will slow Manning down just enough to control the pace of the game. If the Bears do win, it will be a close game; if the Colts win it will be in a blow-out. Plus, Peyton and Tony Dungy finally got past New England, but Manning’s record in big games still leaves a lot to be desired. So, I expect Chicago to win in a close game, but would not bet the house on it. If I am right, I will have to get a cat so I can kick it.
February 2, 2007 at 1:39 am #531558Colts!! Ben Utecth hails from Hastings, MN. His Dad Jeff was our pastor at Hastings United Methodist Church during Ben’s High school & college years. He’d make any dad proud. Great Christian man!!
February 2, 2007 at 4:23 am #531630Easy victory for DAAAAAAAAAAA…. Colts. I wouldn’t be surprised if its 35-10
February 2, 2007 at 1:56 pm #531720I like this, every thing they are saying about the Colts was said about the Saints. The Bears defense couldn’t stop the running backs, they wouldn’t contain Drew Brees, the NFC Pro Bowl quarterback, the Bears offense wouldn’t be able to move the ball on the Saints. There were very few so called EXPERTS who picked the Bears to win the NFC Championship, but here they are in the Superbowl. I think everyone is over looking a good balanced Bears team. I think it will be a close game and the Bears will win in the end. I still say by 10. Now come Monday morning if they lose then I’ll look for all the I told you so posts.

February 2, 2007 at 4:26 pm #531783i think this game looks a lot like the nfc championship game. all the talk before the game was how the saints (insert colts) were gonna do this and this and this, while the bears cant do that and that and that.
the bears are going to run on the colts, who all the so-called experts seem to forget were dead last in the nfl in stopping the run after 16 regular season games. colts opponents, for one reason or another, got away from the run in the playoffs.
manning is going to put points on the board; the bears just got to slow him down some and keep the colts off the field with the running game. the colts lost 4 games this year outdoors when teams established the run (the bears have the o line to do this) and a colts team built for turf becomes half a step slower on grass (see saints).
the bears need at least 4 tds to win – one each on the ground from jones and benson, a pass to berrian and one from defense/special teams. (hester could pop a couple against the colts’ weak special teams).
so i say bears 28-24February 2, 2007 at 6:58 pm #531886Quote:
thats funny that there isn’t any there but he did pass for alot of yards this year. I guess it helped them all the way to the superbowl further than the vikings that is for sure. Also they are as far as the vikings have ever gotten right now and they haven’t played the game sunday yet.
What are you laughing about, the Vikings have been there twice as many times as your Bears, and they haven’t been there in over 25 years.
This is only your 2nd trip to the show, and this is S.B. 41 .
And yet the Bears still have won it all 100 x MORE TIMES AS THE VIKES!
two words that could kill the colts….. PLAY ACTION…. pound the ball hard early just like last week…. then a play action opens the field . and I hope Indy was able to find tape on it because Da bears didn’t do alot of it. Although who knows with Indy’s run D bears may not even need to pass.February 2, 2007 at 9:18 pm #531966I say bears just because I will be at Alry’s in St. Paul with some mighty fine to look at!

Colts!
If the Colts get a lead, there is no way Chicago can play “catch up” with them. They’re running game won’t score enough to “catch up” and they don’t have enough of a passing game to survive, especially when the pressure is on Rex “The Hex” Grossman!! The Colt offense will score plenty of points, and their defense is plenty strong enough to control the Bears average offense.
I doubt it will even be close!
I have to……I told you so!!

The colts defense has destroyed every opponent who has depended on the run. Chicago is one of those teams. The ONLY way the bears are gonna win will be because of Grossmans arm, and lets face it, there aint much there…
Thus Colts by 13
Ok 12 MY BAD
Where you Bearbackers now?????????????????????????February 6, 2007 at 1:58 am #533185I’m still here, just making the comment I usually make for the Cubs, ” Wait until next year ”
