    All,

A good friend of mine Gary Dau has been diagnosed with aggressive prostrate cancer. Gary has been a life long resident of the Quad Cities an avid fisherman, and supporter of many youth fishing clinics in the Quad Cities area. He is a husband, father, grandfather, and caring person who needs our help. He has been self-employed all his life but at the time of his diagnosis he was unable to have health insurance for him-self due to the cost of his wife’s health care needs. He has recently completed radiation treatment and will have to take monthly hormone shots for the next year. As you might guess the medical bills are adding up in a hurry.

We are preparing for a benefit dinner/auction to be held 15 April, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Quad Cities Conservation Alliance building. The address if you are interested in attending is 2621 4th Ave., Rock Island, IL.

I am asking for your support either by attending the benefit dinner or making a donation to the fund raising efforts. In return for a donation of an auction item your companies name will be displayed to all who attend. All monies raised will be deposited in the Gary Dau Fund at the Deere Harvester Community Credit Union. In return for your donation you will be helping Gary get back on his feet and helping out a fellow fisherman that dearly loves the sport. Any assistance you provide will be greatly appreciated by Gary and his family.

Thank you for any and all support you can provide Gary and his family. If you wish to make a donation or would like more information please PM me.

Here is a tip to help you generate more donations. Talk to a local non profit like the Lions Club. If you run the donations through them they will then be tax deductable.

Boatnut, Very good point. I am president of a local fishing club that is a not for profit organization. I will look into how to shelter the donations and make sure that all of the dontaions get where they were ment to go.

    Thanks…
