I’ve been at the wolf center when my brother in law was doing research there while in grad school. You’re right, you enter that enclosure with a very big stick!!! You really wonder what they are thinking…..probably better not to know.
    Great shots.

the black wolf-dog looks a lot like my pet! We ‘rescued’ a pup found in a field off of County M in Osceola. Best guess is that it was born in April. At first, we thought it might have been a black lab-poodle cross but now that she’s grown up a bit, she looks more like a black lab/shepherd or lab/wolf or lab/coyote cross… She’s not very big, though – only about 50 lbs… I would expect a wolf-dog to be bigger…

Funny thing is that we were taking a walk a few weeks ago and a neighbor’s daughter ran out and asked if she could pet our wolf-dog… didn’t really think much of it at the time…

    Great pics Ken
While I am not a fan of wolves, the pictures were awesome. If you ever want to see what cold wicked eyes look like, take a long look at the black wolfs eyes

Absolutely brilliant. I think about adopting a wolf pup as a friend has two German Shepherds mixes, one half wolf and one half coyote. However, the more I read and talk to people about wolves, adopting one is a risky undertaking.

Coyota/Shepherd mix perhaps, but no wolf in your dog. Even the mixed breeds are hugh, 120 lbs. or more.

Understanding the wolf, and respecting the animal, is about as close as we can get to understanding our own pets.

Again, I love the pictures, thanks
