Two Awesome Sponsors at the BB/BS Get Together

I would like to thank both Dairy Queen of Menomonie,Red Wing and Eau Claire and Dominos Pizza of Red Wing for their donations at our up coming event on Aug 9th and 10th at Everet’s Resort

Thanks to these two great sponsors the kids will be eating pizza and ice cream at the event on both days !! Who doesn’t like Pizza and Ice Cream especially from Dominos and Dairy Queen.

Well you can’t beat that. (Kids, pizza, Ice cream, fishing) Great job setting this up. After last years success with this event and seeing all those smiles on those Kids I didn’t think it could get any better.

Nothing better than a nice piece of Canadian Bacon and Pineapple Pizza right James. LOL Not only pizza but dilly bars for desert. I love those butterscotch dilly’s. This should be a really great BB/BS event. Steve

This is where the EFN Pro-Staff guys really step up and show their true colors. The each take a Big Brother or Big Sister and their little brother or sister out on the water for a day of fishing. Several GREAT Sponsors are donating things to help make this a great event.

Are you guys going to be looking for volunteers to take more children out or is this a staff member outing only? Is there a date set this year??

after we get a count of how many Pro-Staff we can get a commitment from we’ll know how many extra people we will need to have…I’m sure we will need more help and we will post such a letter in the near future. I’ve been talking to the Minnesota chapter of Big Brothers this week and it looks like between them and the Eau Claire chapter we’ll get our 40 kids/day. We will be looking for a lot of volunteer staffers for both shore help and probably for volunteer guiding, although I have no idea what our actual count will be.

Suffice to say that we’ll need the help. It’s a 2-day event this year, August 9th and 10th. We’ll have a lot of information to post as we start to organize the events, so please keep your eyes peeled and watch for volunteer calls.

Anyone who requires more information can contact me at any time. Preferably via email here on the board. I’ll post info phone numbers later on.

I had a class last semester with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Owatonna. The class was called YSL (youth service leadership) I was not around kids but I met the ladies that worked there and learned a lot about bb/bs. One of my big project was to wrap kids presents and make them bags. They never said any thing about the get together coming up but I will help in anyway I can. As long as I can fit a little fishin in before or after the event.

It would be great to have you. I talked with Gander Mtn. yesterday and got a great reaction from them regarding the get-together. They’re going to send a couple of pros, including ‘Lucky’ Libby, the Musky fisher-lady if she’s available. Great examples and the two of you are just right. Do a little fishing, maybe some guiding and some techniques. I know that the kids would appreciate it and you’ll set a fabulous example.
