They better find a way to get that ball in the end zone… It could be a long day kicking field goals.

I love it! All season long all I heard was how the Bears haven’t played anybody yet. Yeah yeah yeah, whatever. The Saints played some awesome defense in the first half but the Bears played better. I hope they saved some mustard for the big game!

for the saints have two running backs on being a showboat overrated rookie they only had 56 yards????????????? WTF I thought they were great running backs??????????

The bears who supposedly don’t have an offense had 196 yards rushing and their number one defense dominated as well against that so called number one offense!!!!!!!!

The Bears won a weak NFC, which I did not think they would do. Grossman managed not to screw up today, and the Saints came out with an odd game plan–I am guessing New Orleans ran the ball maybe a dozen times today. So, I was wrong about the Bears. They are going back to the Super Bowl.

Now, though, they are done playing weak “over-rated” teams like the Saints. I am waiting to see whether I will be cheering for Indy or New England to punish and humiliate the Bears in two weeks. I am betting the Pats will best show the Bears that winning a weak NFC by beating flawed teams like the Seahawks means nothing when playing the class of the NFL.

It is ok to say the bears are good. Yes it is. I am sorry your vikings didn’t make it. But look on the bright side if the bears loose in the super bowl that is a far as the vikings have ever made it.

Actually, the Vikings have been to the Super Bowl four times, so it is not “far as the vikings have ever made”.

This Bear fan never makes a prediction about his team before a game, which is because he doesn’t believe they can win. After a win, this Bear fan goes on and on about how bad of a team the Bears just beat. If he thought his team was really that good, he wouldn’t compulsively talk about how bad and over-rated the Bears’ opponent was. So, he needs to bash the other team in an indirect acknowledgement that he doesn’t believe in Chicago. In the previous post, this Bear fan essentially admitted that he doesn’t think the Bears will beat New England or Indy.

If the Saints were really so bad, and he thought the Bears were that good, this Bear fan would have been talking smack before the game. Instead, this Bear fan waits until after the game to jump on the bandwagon. After Chicago loses in two weeks, this fan will be not be heard from again…until the Bears beat another sub-par opponent next fall.

So each and every team in the NFC, Bears included, suck? Maybe the Bears will get beat up on in the Super Bowl. Maybe not. Where are the Viqueens? Exactly!

So long as the Bears come out and play balls to the walls no one can say anything if they lose. If they come out and stink it up about the only thing that can be said is they were off their game. We’ve all witnessed (15 times) what happens when they are on their game. By the looks of things it will be the Pats and Bears in the bowl, a re-match of 1985.

Let me start the list of excuses for people to use should the Bears actually win the big game.
    1) Brady had a tummy ache
    2) The Pats came out with an odd game plan
    3) All the officals were on the Bears side
    4) Blah blah blah blah

actually i did make a prediction about the game before it happened. I think I would do some research before you open your mouth. It is under the pro football thread probably on the 2nd page. What i meant about as far as the vikings have ever gotten was just that they made it to the big game but choked in the end so the bears will still be better because they have won one.

You know, Viking fan, sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and keep people wondering if your a schmuck instead of speaking up and proving it.

The Vikings have been to the Super Bowl more times than four. Unfortunatly they always go as spectators, including the other four times!

Reading what these Bears fans are writing makes me actually respect Packer fans.

Telling people to shut up on this board is way out of line. If you think you need to treat people that way, why don’t you go onto the Bears chat board and have your fun there, because members here don’t treat others here like you are treating them.

You two are getting to the point of being obnoxious.

The band-wagon is filling up pretty quickly–I wonder where these Bear fans were just five hours ago? Anyone can be cocky when they say nothing until after the game is played.

The NFC is a weak conference this year, and I expect that to be proven in Miami. As one Bear fan put it, New Orleans’ offense was over-rated, and Reggie Bush over-hyped.

Anyhow, regarding Riveratt’s reply: he waited until the game was over to talk smack, too, and calling the other Bear fan out on this apparently hit a nerve with him. So, they try to change the discussion into a debate about the Vikings’ futility in Super Bowls. The other Bear fan did not explain why he always talks about how horrible every team the Bears play (after the fact) is, either. If the Bear are in fact a great team, then it should not be necessary to talk about how horrible and over-rated their opponents are.

My team has stunk up the Super Bowl when they did make it, hasn’t even been there in thirty years, and isn’t likely to be back any time soon. What that has to do with the Bears this season, and their chances in the Super Bowl, has not been made clear.

I don’t think the Colts defense matches up well with Chicago, but the Bears defense is hurting, and I expect Manning to carve their secondary up in a big way. That is why I think the Colts will win their second Super Bowl.

Sorry for the confusion JLDII. After reading my post I can see that I wasn’t clear on my reply. I was speaking in jest of myself not speaking up earlier for fear of proving I am a schmuck versus keeping quiet and letting people guess. I proved my own theory true.

Vikes fan. Funny you speak of hitting a nerve.

The way some people carry on and get all bowed up over a game of football is always a mystery to me. Sure I like to pull for my teams but to get so bent that it consumes your activities and thoughts is completely stupid. It’s a game people. If the only way to prove we have confidence in our chosen team is to “talk smack” before, during, and after the games then count me out. I have been out of junior high since just after the Bears won the last Super Bowl.

I agree with sandbar. I am not a Bears fan, but I have to say I love to watch Urlacher (sp) play. He was step for step with Reggie Bush on that long run carrying an extra 50 lbs He is a true freak of nature

For those of you who understand football spacing, and a MLB roll in the defence, he is a true great at the position

Best of luck to the Bears. I’m one of the “one and done” crowd. They proved me wrong, good for them.

Couple of game notes, I wonder what would have been the outcome had Bush not showboated going into the end zone? He fired up a Bears defense that until that point had not impressed me at all. Remember, all they had done was kick a bunch of field goals off of Saints turnovers.

Finally I must admit I must now pull for the Bears in the Super Bowl. It was sad for me to see New England lose to Payton.

    Go get ’em Bears!

Urlacher is a great player!! We pulled for the Bears the whole season. My wife’s from Chicago and I’ve spent a lot of time down there. I was very happy to see them make it to the Superbowl.

What I don’t understand, is how Urlacher was voted the 2nd most overated player in the NFL….T. Owens was first.

The Bears won, plain and simple. They have one more game, to prove something to me, which this will not be the first time I will have been wrong. Anyway you look at it, it will not matter whether they were lucky or good, when its all over… if they win the bowl, none of that will matter. If Grossman best’s Manning, then they were good enough.

You have to remember who is voting on crap like that, sports writers who are more interested in creating controversy to sell newspapers, then in reporting the news
