Crestliner boat auction at Crystal Pierz Marina

This is a goofy deal. If you think an 1850 Fish hawk tiller with a 90 Merc has an MSRP of $27,900.00 then I have a deal on some swamp land.

If you are auctioning off 85 boats right as the season starts you must have some serious cash flow problems and some monster debt to pay.

I would suggest you see any boat that you are considering bidding on in person and go over it with a fine tooth comb.

    Let the buyer beware.

That has GOT to be a misprint.

I just went and looked. One of the first boats listed is this…

    Year: 2005

    Model: 192 Tournament Series

Trailer: Shorelander Roller Trailer – Bunk w/ brakes

    Swing Tongue: No

    Motor: Mercury 200 Optimax, 2-stroke

    Hull Number: CRC187978I405

    MSRP: $39,131.00

The prices listed are MSRP. They could be quoting prices for new equipment and those prices still seem rediculous. I don’t have time to follow the auctions but I’m willing to bet you’ll see many of these rigs go for a sale price FAR below the MSRP listed.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

If interested go look at the boat, write down the serial number of boat, motor, trailer.

Read the auction contract carefully. Note they add tax, buyers premium. They will attempt to have you finance through them.(Crystal Pierz) most important…..is there a reserve on the item you are bidding on?

Call me old fashion, but I want to be in front of an auctioneer when they are selling. I don’t like the idea of on-line bidding. But hey, that’s just me.

Looks more like an ill contrived marketing scheme to me. I would be very leery of entering into any of these agreements.

There is a reason taht they did what they did. They wanted to get rid of the boats that they had from other dealers that they didnt want on there lot ne more. Great way to get some people some boats at a great cost.

Did anyone here buy or even know anyone who bought a boat through this auction? Just wondering what the delta between MSRP and actual sales $ was.

I heard first hand that the auction was pretty much a success. Plus, it also generated a lot of foot traffic on Thursday night at the boat show. I don’t know the margins. There were a number of ticked off boat dealers at the show.

I did see that 1 guy had 17 maximum bids at one time on boats. no clue how he came out. that would hurt to get 3 or 4 when you only want 1.

My guess is, he was a dealer.
