    IDO NEEDS OUR SUPPORT!!!

    I am sure all of you have viewed the “In-Depth Outdoors, Walleye Ice Tactics” show and know what an awesome job that James, Scott and Matt (along with staff) did to put on this production. We all appreciate it and all enjoyed it.

    NOW IT IS OUR TURN!!!

    We, as consumers, have a responsibility to “Help Those Help Us”!!! And it is easier than you think! I am hereby starting this letter writing campaign (so to speak) to help IDO in getting more productions up and running, more channels added to the list, and hopefully, a greater viewing area. As you may know… This costs money. And although I am sure that our contributions help, we, as the “little” guys, cannot put forward enough to get this venture to where we all hope it to someday be! This is where we “little” guys get to use our “consumer strength” and let the “big” guys know that we are here… and their sponsorship of this programming matters to us!!!

    I am listing a drafted letter that I am sending to every one of the IDO sponsorships! These are the people that ran the commercials and these are the people that supported IDO through their first production. We need to let them know how we feel about their support of our favorite fishing show! We need to let them know that it matters. And that we hope they continue their sponsorship in the future! Below is the letter I am sending. I have also done some legwork for you in where you can send your own personal letter! Feel free to copy mine and send it along (will only take you 5 mins to send to ALL sponsors). Or better yet, write your own with your own take on things. Either way, SEND THOSE LETTERS!!!

    Please reply to this post that you have sent your letter! Let’s keep this post to the top! Let’s let every IDA’er know about it, and have your friends and family send them too! Tell your friends! Tell your co-workers! Tell the Fish you pull up through the ice!!! It doesn’t matter!!! Tell EVERYONE!!!

    IF you really want to show your support, draft you own letter, seriously. Not to say the cut and pasted model isn’t ok, but a personal letter you draft yourself will have more effect, IMHO.

    Thats what I thought too, so I typed my own note and sent that to all sponsors. Probably means a little more, when its not the same e-mail over and over.

    Guys,

    You have no idea how important your enthusiam for our show is to the future of In-Depth Outdoors TV! If the sponsors know our show is important to you then they’ll make sure the show is important to them. I know I can speak for all the guys here working on each episode when I say thank you for taking the time and making the effort to voice your opinions!

    I work with a lot of sponsors and I can say what you guys are doing here REALLY makes a big difference. It is this kind of effort that makes lining up new sposors and improving our relationship with current sponsors much easier. Thanks for your efforts

    If you are a memeber.. please read the beginning of this post. I did the legwork of providing all the email addresses… You need only take a few moments to fill it out… copy and paste to other emails your letter… and hit send! For those of you that are reading and unregistered, You don’t have to be to send these letters of thanks to the sponsors! But register anyway!     Hey guys… I know you are reading this! Come’on and help IDA out. There had got to be more than a half dozen of you out there that are willing to spend 10 minutes to help out your favorite fishing site!!! I know a lot of you were at the GTG this weekend. And I am sure you had a great time. Well, why don’t you show IDA how much you appreciate it by sending off your letters to the sponsors and replying to this thread that it is done!

    Come On all! This post is falling behind! All you GTG people… I know where your minds were at the end of last week! Now that the GTG is over… let’s send them letters to those sponsors. It looks so far that 11 people have sent letters. We are IDA WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT!!! Let’s see if we can get 50 people to send letters. There have been 70 members online in the last 10 minutes. I am sure much more will be on during the day and through the night! Let’s see if we can hit 50 posts. I heard through the grapevine that if we hit 100, BrianK will renounce catfishing! (ok… so I didn’t hear that… but would be pretty funny… what would he do with all his time?)

    You have no clue how important this is to an advertiser, let alone IDA.

    See, being in the “business” where I do alot of advertising, including here, I measure it.

    Some places, where I advertise, I don’t get much response. If it doesn’t “pay out”, I pull that advertising and place my funds elsewhere to draw business.

    Other places, I advertise and it works out well (Like right here at IDA) and in return I offer incentives to my clients (like free guide trips, free custom made fishing rods, free tackle from BFN). All of my incentives are right from the advertisers here at IDA, so I “spread the success”.

    These letters, to the advertisers are CRITICAL. If the advertiser doesn’t hear or see the success of their advertising, they will not advertise again in the future. Why bother, it doesn’t “pay”…….

    If our members can show their support and gratitude to the advertisers by sending a letter, trust me…….It goes a long ways…….

    Theres a lot I dont know.. about a great many things…..

    but one thing I know.. this site is what WE make of it.. and if WE dont support it.. WHO WILL? lets all get going and DO this!! it just has to be done….

    or lets put it another way!… do it.. or tell my new dog.. why you cant…
