Question for the hard core gear junkies.

I’m looking to organize a local fishing Swap Meet. I’d rent out a hall or VFW, you could purchase table space to sell your gear or come as a buyer to shop. I’ve done this alot at Cycling swap meets and the turnout is generally excellent. I had my own “garage” sale last weekend and cleaned up and out of a lot of old gear, got me thinking.. Would this be of interest to anyone? thoughts?

Speaking for myself, the table rent would have to be dirt-cheap in order for me to attend. I have lots of stuff, but I just think the prices guys would be willing to pay wouldn’t add up to much, thus making participating a “wash”.

Thanks for the feedback. Ideally table rental would be cheap, 20.00 or less. As for the goods, if you bring GOOD STUFF, with value and current in design or use, you’d be surprised. Selling good stuff is the key to eliminating the “flea market” effect. I sold over 700.00 worth of Fly fishing/offshore rigging and muskie stuff out of my garage last weekend, it was cold/[censored] and off season. I had aboout 35 guys come off of 3 ad’s on craigslist.

Iowa has a Fishermans swap meet every Feb or Eary March. Venders from all over come to this its a 2 1/2 day event and always crowded. Fact I got my first Berkley Series One there in 89 or 90 from The Bobber Shop.
