Turns out one of my legs is 16 mm shorter than the other
Yep, when I went in this morning my right leg was close to 1″ shorter I never even knew or would have even thought anything of it until Ted said that. Kind of weird all the things that the spine can tell you. On the back of the scan report I got, it has a diagram of the spine with all the vertabrae labeled. Then it tells all the things that could be affected by which ever vertabrae is misaligned. It is called the “Vertebral Subluxation and Nerve Chart”. It is really interesting reading.Herb-Ummmm…I think I am done trapping for this year

Thanks for all the kind words. I am very happy that it is looking up for you for the GTG. Maybe next year I will come along and bring a portable table. Tell my wife it is a working weekend. Really happy for you once again. TedJanuary 17, 2007 at 4:55 pm #524054Just remember, once you go to a chiropractor they make you come back forever! Reason is, once you feel better your doomed because you just won’t accept feeling rotten again. Daily life is hard on our body and the majority of people do not have perfect posture-this leads to the spine being out of balance (one of the reasons for short leg syndrome)and improper motion of the spinal joints leading to nerve irritation–what the chiropractors call a spinal subluxation. This process over time leads to health problems of all sorts–simply put, stress on any body system over time leads to dysfunction and given enough time-disease. Stress eventually kills all of us. This line of thinking is nothing new, example: eat too much sugar-this stresses the pancreas which produces extra insulin to burn up the sugar-which leads to dysfunction—do this over years and the pancreas burns out and loses the abiility to produce insulin—one reason why older people end up with diabetes and need insulin shots. So going to the chiropractor is something everyone should consider, nothing different to going to the eye doctor, dentist or MD for exams.-all things in health care have their time and place. Unfortunately, there is no exercise nor stretch that adjusts a specific spinal joint other than a chiropractic adjustment. Getting adjusted(in combination with massage, proper postural exercises and stretches)is the best way to keep your back as balanced as possible. The important thing to remember is it all comes down the joints-if those are not moving properly you unbalance your spinal system, irritate your nerves, create muscle spasms—pain. As those of you know with a bad back, this can become a reoccurring cycle–which cuts into fishing time.
