Awesome site Derrick. You can even type in someones phone number and it will show you where they live. It also will do a search for other information on the person too. Thanks for sharing the link.

Why pay the man in the airplane for a photo of you farm when you get it on the internet?

Where I live the picture is more than 2 years old.

    Neat thread!

Thanks for posting, (I was almost to the end of the internet). I’m thinking that was done in the spring…close to sunset.

How can I save an image of that for e-mail?

I’ve been using that site for a number of years. If you just use it to look at lakes, or property closer to metro areas than it’s great. But if you use it for deer-scouting purposes in Northern Minnesota the aerials are atleast 8-10 years old in many areas. It’s a very handy tool when the images are modern, though!

What I like best is the ease of moving from one spot on the map to another….in a matter of seconds. You don’t have to go back and type in a new location, just clik and drag!

ha!.. they missed by house by over 100 yards!.. the map is too old to see it there anyway.. or ANY of the houses on that road… even though many of them are more than 5 years old including ours!… AND you cant zoom into the lowest level.. street is the best it got.. which looked like they were at least at 10,000 feet.. well maybe 5,000.. still WAY up there though… if there was a BIG farm you could see a dot or two where the barns were…
its funny though.. for some reason all these location things have us located way off from where we actually are… so thats good….

My neighborhood photo is fairly recent. I can see the “For Sale” sign in my neighbors yard…

Neither my house nor any of my neighbors’ houses are there…Most excellent.

I prefer they keep it that way.

    This seems intrusive.

I don’t think they have updated my area for about 10 years

My house is the only one there, and the other 60 houses in (3) developments around don’t exist

I just zoomed in on the 4-mile portage going into Basswood Lake, up by Ely, and there’s funny little Frenchmen exchanging beaver pelts for wild rice with the Indians….I think this aerial might be a little old?
