Just thought I would vent a little bit…Thinking about the problems that our fisheries endure here in La Crosse, and I’m sure its just as bad anywhere else that has a good population of multiple species…I witness daily the effects of poor harvesting and management and people breaking the law constantly. Its really sickening. Something needs to be done, and these laws need to be better inforced. I hear stories of guys keeping 40 Crappies in a day, and the limit is 25. heck, a kid today was bragging about how his friend kept 40 sunfish in one day off his dock. I told him that that was terrible and against the law and he gave me the good old “well not many people fish there”…How ignorant!..That means nothing. Breaking the law does. And if everyone thought keeping 40 sunfish was “no big deal” then we would have no sunfish. Just venting a bit. “Ignorance Kills Fisheries.”

Ignorance implies that these people don’t know right from wrong.

Criminal implies that these people do know right from wrong and choose to break the law.

All you can do is report the criminal to the authorites and move on.

    Good Luck.

I would report them Cade. You don’t have to tell the tip line who you are either.
    Thanks, Bill

TIP Cade. That’s the only way to stop these people.

Thanks for the number. I’m going to put it on my cell phone…
Anyway, I would have tipped them off If I would have known about this when it was happening…This was back in the summer and there is no way of proving it now
    Thanks,
    Cade

Read the cuffs and collars in the Outdoor News. Some of it almost makes you sick. Some of the excuses these people come up with are something else. I think the fines are going to have to get a lot bigger to get the attention of some people.
