Just getting started in icefishing with my kids and was wondering the best house to get was.

I think otters and the fish traps are the most popular ones, for good reason, on the market right now, assuming you are talking portables, personally if you could find a fishtrap x2 model, that would be my first choice. Ice houses in general start to get pretty hard to get this time of year, so good luck hunting them down. Usually Gander Mountain has a bunch on the floor so you can see which one you like best.

I just got a new Otter Magnum Lodge, and absolutely love it! I opted for the bench seat. It is extremely comfortable and fishes two big guys with ease! They come in Viking purple or Packer green.

I like my Otter, I like tha canvas over the nylon fabric although nylon is lighter seems the canvas holds up against wind structurewise. I do not care for my walls blowing in on me shrinking my space…Just my .02
