Our bass club did a swap meet where everybody brought in tackle they no longer used. The plastics were basically put in pile for everyone to grab whatever they may use. More expensive lures, rods, reels, etc. were either sold or traded. Might be something to toy with around the same time as the get together?
Our club did a swap meet in March. It being the first time we did it, I thought it was a success. All we did was rent the American Legion and sell tables for $20.00. Then the guys brought in all their stuff, piled it on their tables and sold it. As of now we will be doing it again next year at the Red Barn Auction House the first part of April.
Maybe its just the packrat in me but i dont thinki could ever sell or swap any of my fishing gear I still have my very first spinning rod that i ever bought… when i was 10 At the local Holiday station store I bet it would still work but lucky for me i have upgraded since then. Another idea would be to get all the local tackle makers and suppliers together in one building and do some power shopping
I would go along with that one. I tie flies and used to make Musky lures. I would like to see componant suppliers and demonstrations. I spose this happens at the big sport shows but I think FTR could do well by this.
