Poor customer service… again!

We have all had experience with poor customer service. I usually just forget about it and move on. This time I just have to get it off my chest.

I went to a large outdoor retailer in Lakeville who sells Arctic Cat ATV’s(you guess who!), to get a gun boot mount for my Arctic Cat. It has the speedrack system so I wanted the one that mounts that way, not a universal.

The wonderfull salesman tried his darndest to sell me a universal one without even looking to see if they had the speedrack one. After basically forcing him to go look it up, he said they didnt have any, didnt know if or when they would get more, and couldnt order me one. Oh, did I mention that he wouldnt sell me EITHER of the ones they had on display (one on the wall and one on an ATV). This is not the first time I had that voilated feeling walking out the door of this store, but it WILL be the last.

Santa brought me some gift cards to this store, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to get the gun scabbard I was looking at. Guess I will have to just stock the tackle box instead.

This is a good lesson to always go with a business that gives good customer service. Like Southwest Outdoor Power in Shakopee, where I have had nothing but good experiences with. Jay over there got me the best deal I could find on my H1 and has given me EXCELLENT customer service all the way along.

When situations like yours occur, it never hurts to discuss the issue at hand with the store manager. I’ve found more than once, you end up being very satisfied. Plus, if the poor service isn’t brought to the manager’s attention, it makes it difficult for the manager to correct it and make his store “good” again.

I know the store you are talking about and yes, their service does lack in areas. I’ve been waiting for a mount for an Eagle locator for 2 years….I sold the locator last year!

    nope!
I’m just waiting for the call to come when they say: “Hey! This is “so-n-so” store, we got your bracket!”

Take your gift cards, go buy something. Go directly from the cashier to the customer service department and return it. Get the gift card and repeat the process until somebody asks you what you are doing. Ask for the manager and tell him how pi–ed off you are, let him know you are wasting his time like his employee’s like to waste your time. Rip him a new one. I get so sick of dealing with these kind of stores, it just makes ya sick.

Finally, spend your gift cards, call and thank those who bought them. Ask that they please not buy anymore from that store as you are never going in there again.

A little harsh? Maybe, but you will feel better!

It’s all part of the Wal-Mart effect. To compete you only hire kids that know nothing. Will only work there two weeks. Could care less what you think or do.

Visit a local family owned store, pay a little more (maybe) and at least know you were apprieciated.

I did talk to the store manager, he did offer to help getting what I needed, and was concerned about the enitre situation. But I thought it had more impact when I told him that they lost the sale becasue of that type of service and that I would bring my business elsewhere.

Nick, thanks for the offer. I’m just going to get it from Southwest Outdoor Power. Jay over there really appreciates the business too. If anyone needs anything Arctic Cat, I highly recomend them.

AJ, It sounds like Southwest Outdoor Power is the type of advertiser we like to have on board with IDA. Sponsors with great customer service.

Shoot me a pm with the owners name and number. All of our members should see his business.

I bought my Arctic Cat at that store and had outstanding service. They had it ready for me to pick up in 4 hours. I have bought several accessories and a lot of hunting and fishing items and was given great assistance 95% of the time. By the way I priced out my atv at several dealers apple for apple and they were 500$ cheaper. Hope you have better luck next time.

Why beat around the bush with the name of the store? If they didn’t satisfy you and have been unable to on several occasions then let them out of the bag. A little bad press is exactly what these kinds of places have earned plus it may well save someone here from getting tangled up in their mess.
