I had a very strange encounter last night……
For the past 2 weeks, I have been struggling with a pretty bad cold. But it wasn’t until Wednesday when I decided to push my luck ice fishing, when it got real bad. I didn’t listen to my body and quit when I should have. A combonation of my cold and my astmah put me on my but for thursday, and I had to stay home from school on Friday. Yesterday, i was feeling much better and decided to try some ice fishing again…Well again, my stupidity prevails. This time, it got so bad that I had to make a trip to the emergency room at Gunderson Hospital at around 11 o’ clock at night. We got in right away and the nurse got me set up and said the doctor would be right in. This is where things get really wierd. The doc comes in and says Hello, he introduced himself and said that he already knew me from In-depthangling.com…It turned out to be SCC from here on the site, and he got me back in working condition so I can actually breath while I am on IDA now! So thanks SCC for the meds, and the fishing talk…It was the best trip to the ER i can ever remember.
Who would have thought I would run into SCC at Midnight in the ER 2 days before X-mas?
    Small world huh?

IDA is truly a great place – hope your feeling better Cade, and the dad in me says STAY OFF THE ICE for a couple of days.

Thankfully, the ice is not/will not be safe so I’m not even going to be tempted for a while…I’ll be down and out for the next 2 days and Hopefully i can get on some water by tuesday. Yes, IDA is the best

Yep, if I were you, I would just take the next couple of days off and relax. Let them lungs heal up so they do not hold you back for even longer. At least with the holiday you will be able to keep busy for a few days and take your mind off of fishing
Heck even I am taking a couple days off from trapping to rest up for this next week of running traps HARD until New Years.

Hey SCC! How are things going at GL? We went through orientation together a few years back. I’m the shrink that headed up north to MN and Hazelden. I knew it was you when I heard that there was an ER doc on IDA! I’ve traded the Mississippi for the St. Croix and several excellent largemouth lakes up this way. We never made it on the water when I was back in LAX, but perhaps we could connect this spring/summer.
